Frequently Asked Questions
From how our sprints work to pricing, we answer your most common questions.
We create interview-driven sales enablement and thought leadership content that keeps technology services firms from competing on price.
Consulting firms have all the expertise and customer stories they need to close more deals. But those insights are locked up inside the organization.
We use interviews to unlock those insights. And we turn those interviews into powerful stories that break down internal silos and build trust with potential customers.
You get more of the projects you actually want (long-term, high-margin engagements). And you improve ops, sales efforts, and marketing in the process.
In the IT world, rightsizing is about making sure the infrastructure fits the business needs. You remove waste and optimize resources to achieve the best performance.
Same is true in marketing.
Loads of service firms try to do much with a very small marketing team. This leads to ad hoc, check-box marketing that is busy. Not effective.
Before we start creating content, we take a look at your business, customer data, market, and services. Then, we evaluate your website.
Our goal is to put your house in order first. We’ll share our thoughts, frameworks, and processes to improve efficiencies, clarify your messaging, and align your teams. Next, we’ll make changes to your website that improve your sales funnel while keeping your business from sounding like every other firm out there.
With a strong foundation, you’re ready for content.
Every marketing firm wants to start with strategy. It’s frustrating.
Not us. We’re flexible.
If you have a working strategy in place, we can go straight into implementation.
But.
We’ll need to review that strategy. It’s important that the strategy is data-backed (quant and qual) and aligns with business goals. If it’s just a list of tactics, we’ll need to build out a strategy.
The same is true of your website. If you recently worked with an agency that ran an audit and fixed your site, we can skip that part. But we’ll need to run an audit first to 2x check their efforts.
Creating content is the fun bit. But without a sound strategy and foundation in place, firms end up wasting a ton of time and money with check-box marketing (the kind of marketing that looks busy but doesn’t move the needle.)
Our sprints are short, time-boxed periods (often 2 – 4 weeks) where we knock out a set amount of work. There’s a clear start and stop. And each sprint results in specific deliverables designed to move your business forward.
There are NO retainers.
Instead, we identify marketing and business development weak points during our discovery process and throughout our engagement. Then, we share these with your team as potential sprints. You decide if you want additional sprints.
If you do, we’ll work with your team to make rapid improvements.
Traditional marketing agencies trap businesses with retainers.
It’s a dated process that doesn’t benefit YOU.
You spend months finding and vetting an agency. Then, you sign a 12-month contract after a LONG approval process. And then you wait.
And you wait.
And you wait…
Hoping your agency delivers on its promises.
The engagement may start strong. They’re responsive, appear to be working, and flood your inbox with notifications for the first 3 – 4 months (the honeymoon period).
But their goal is to get your account onto autopilot quickly, so they can shift their focus to new customers while cashing in on that retainer.
Over time, responsiveness goes down. Updates stop making sense. And it’s clear that a junior-level employee now runs your account.
If you’re unhappy, it doesn’t matter. You’re stuck. Unless you fight your way out of the contract…😬
At some point, you wonder, “What exactly are we paying for?”
It’s not the best for your business.
Speed to market matters. Our sprints keep you competitive by getting you the research, assets, and actions you need to improve your business in weeks.
Not spread out over 12 months.
We don’t throttle the time we spend on your account and trickle out assets over a 12-month contract just to collect revenue.
We get shit done.
Sprints also give your business more freedom:
You can choose the ones that fit your goals, budget, and/or business needs. And you can start/stop after each engagement without worrying about trying to untangle yourself from a messy contract.
Depends. (Classic consulting answer, I know. But it’s true.)
Your team, website, target market, sales processes, customer data, and existing content all impact the timeline for results.
If you don’t have client insights or a system for collecting them, then we’ll need to focus on that first before building out content.
Otherwise, you end up creating content for the sake of content. And that’s the kind of “shot in the dark”, check-box marketing that leads to repeated failures.
If you already have clear customer data and an established brand presence, then you can see results faster. We can start working on the sales enablement and thought leadership content you need to build brand awareness, help clients, and improve sales outputs.
Yes. We have an interview-driven process for creating sales enablement and thought leadership content.
Here’s a rough look at our process:
- Draft outline and interview questions.
- Share with the team for approval.
- Conduct a 1-hour recorded interview.
- Draft article based on interview.
- Add outside expert insights (optional)
- Share w/ SME for review.
- Create LinkedIn content to support distribution.
- Publish the article on-site (or off-site).
This is not generic, AI-generated SEO content. We use your expert insights to directly solve customer problems. And we uncover those insights through interviews.
We do not design websites.
We do implement minor design changes via block-editors on WP-Based sites. But if you need custom website development, we can recommend other firms.
We charge a flat rate per sprint (paid upfront) before work starts.
Pricing varies depending on the size/state of your website, existing systems, the amount of content, and current customer data. On average, the cost of an initial round of all 3 sprints—Rightsize, Sales Enablement, and Thought Leadership—is around $35,000 – $50,000 (over three months).
Once we finish the Rightsizing Sprint, we’ll work with your team to create sales enablement and thought leadership content in ad hoc sprints (as needed).
If you have a marketing team and only need knowledge transfer/support, we offer consulting sprints for $1500 per month. This includes two 90-minute workshops (each focusing on a separate challenge) along with our templates, frameworks, and processes.
Our most successful clients are consulting firms that understand they’re sitting on a vault of expertise and client stories. And they’re eager to share those insights with their prospective buyers.
They see content as a way to:
- Better understand their clients
- Refine their services
- Build stronger client relationships
- Improve workplace culture
- Reduce burnout
- Grow their brand
- Attract top talent
They also see marketing as an investment, not a business expense. And they understand that effective marketing requires an interview-driven approach.
SMEs are the experts.
Marketers build the stage and hand them the bullhorn.
The last thing we want is to give you some extra homework.
You’re busy. Your time is valuable. Every minute you can spend on your clients better positions your business.
To start, we’ll need to interview key members of your team (CEO, Marketing, Sales, and Client Services) to build out your strategy. Each of these 60-minute interviews is critical.
After, we’ll manage the bulk of the work: conducting research, building the strategy, sharing insights, etc. But we’ll still need feedback and insights from your team.
If we create content together, we’ll need to set up recurring interviews with your SMEs (60-minutes). This ensures we create truly helpful, unique content that stands out.
(We will share our exact process on call with you.)
Depending on our engagement, we may meet bi-weekly for a short 30-minute chat to touch base. Or, we may have longer meetings to workshop problems. Either way, we make sure you never leave the meeting thinking, “That could have been an email…”
Think partnership. Not 100% outsourced.
Note: All interviews are recorded and shared with your team for future reference.
Yes. We’ll speak to 1 person from each of the following teams:
- Sales
- Marketing
- Support
- CEO
Each interview is 60 minutes, and you’ll receive the questions beforehand.
The main purpose is for us to understand your business so our sprints align with your needs. The secondary benefit is to identify misalignment between teams.
You will also get a feel for how we run our SME interviews.
The main reason technology consulting firms stop working with agencies is that “They don’t get our business.” It’s a very different, often difficult, space.
We know this space. Our clients are primarily technology services and consulting firms.
We understand your language, pain points, challenges, and outcomes. We also understand the complexities of navigating partner relationships, the need for referrals and expansion, the challenging buying processes, the frustration of being seen as a vendor instead of a strategic partner, and losing accounts because of price (despite doing great work).
In short, you won’t waste time trying to explain your business to us.
We start each engagement off with a discovery call followed by a proposal. We listen to your challenges and goals. Then, we’ll build a plan for you.
If you agree to the proposal, we’ll send over a Master Services Agreement (MSA). The MSA will outline the initial sprints and cost.
After you sign the MSA, we set up an onboarding call and invoice your business using Quickbooks (NET 30).
Then the real work begins.
We’ll send over our onboarding email, requesting access to your CRM, existing marketing assets, reports, proposals, etc. Then, we’ll review those assets and data along with your website, and your competitors.
The next step is to interview your team: Sales, Support, Marketing, and Leadership. These 60-minute interviews help us understand your business, clients, and approach. They also help us see any inconsistencies between departments.
With all that information, we begin putting together a Rightsizing plan. The goal is to build a strategy based on your firm’s strengths (while accounting for its weaknesses). Once we get approval, we help implement. We also share resources to align your teams and improve processes.
With a solid foundation, we start creating sales enablement and thought leadership content—moving quickly because the time to market matters.
There are no long-term retainers.

It’s a “no-pressure” 30-minute chat. We ask you a bunch of questions about your business. And if we feel like we’re a good fit, we’ll schedule a follow-up call to share a proposal with your team.
Worse case, you get a handful of insights you can share with your team to make changes.
Best case, you get a partner who’s obsessed (in a healthy way) with improving your firm through interview-driven content.
It’s a win-win.
While we do not discount services, we can adjust the scope of work to fit within your budget. We’re happy to discuss this with you during our discovery call.
